"As a teacher learning aerial skills for the first time, the training has given me an appreciation for teachers who emphasize fundamental skills. Wendi gave us a strong foundation in the basics such as alignment, breathing, etc... which I believe made some of the more difficult poses accessible, fun and safe. Although some of the poses and exercises were intimidating, having that strong foundation gave me the confidence to try. I would highly recommend this training not just for people looking to teach but for anyone wanting a strong foundation in aerial skills. There's so much material covered, the training is quite thorough. I liked the length of the training, and how each day built upon the skills learned the previous day. Wendi is a gifted and talented teacher. As her student I felt that she was supportive and patient, she really takes the time to make sure you understand. Wendi's emphasis on safety takes away the intimidation factor of challenging poses like inversions. She teaches you how to be safe, and then teaches you how to have fun with the silks." – Zeny O.
"I would recommend the training, whether to teach or for personal development. For personal development, learning aerial from the perspective of the teacher, you understand more completely what the teacher is looking for, how a teacher spots and uses safety, as well as a more complete overview for practice. After completing the teacher training, I am more aware of refinement in my practice and adding transitions for more of a flow. Wendi's background in dance, yoga and aerial trainings enables her to teach the student whether new to or practiced with aerial yoga by enriching from other disciplines. She kept the class on schedule to complete the syllabus and set a standard of expectation for the students. She also shared a variety of openings and closings for the class that gave the training extra interest and meaning." –Jenny L.
"I chose Leva's Aerial Yoga teacher training specifically because of Wendi. Her depth and breadth of knowledge about yoga, human anatomy, myofascial tissue, and human nature is amazing and admirable. She has a genuine passion for her work and a seemingly unquenchable thirst for increased knowledge and awareness in her field of work. And she has the gift of being able to share her knowledge and experience in a way that reveals a genuine caring and compassion for those who come to learn from her.
Wendi is an AMAZING teacher. Wendi's knowledge and experience is phenomenal. But possessing knowledge and a mastery of any skill and craft does not necessarily make a good teacher. Words that I use to describe Wendi are: supportive; encouraging; calm; quiet, yet animated; confident, yet humble; graceful; gracious; professional; friendly; positive; humble; grateful; compassionate; thoughtful; provides you with a feeling of being safe; caring; genuine. What more could anyone want from a teacher? She's wonderful and a joy to be around.
Another reason I chose to attend this training with Wendi is because I am convinced that aerial yoga with Wendi was key in my recovery from a serious illness back in 2011. I was hospitalized for what doctors called rhabdomyolysis which is a breakdown of muscle cells. None of the doctors (including neurologists and auto-immune specialists) were ever able to tell me what caused my condition. I was in extreme pain and could not walk because my muscle cells were dying and were not regenerating. My recovery was slow and painful, and because I didn't know what caused my condition, I was fearful of doing any type of physical activity that might trigger a relapse. This was a very sad and frustrating time for me, as I've been a group fitness instructor for more than 20 years. But a good friend suggested I try aerial yoga with Wendi, and from my first class with her, I knew aerial yoga with Wendi would allow me to rebuild my strength in my legs and in my core in a way that would provide me with the support I needed until I could regain not only my physical strength, but my mental and emotional strength. When I told my physical therapist of the things Wendi would have me do in her classes, he said, "keep on doing what you're doing--your aerial yoga is definitely helping you!" Thank you, Wendi, for helping me heal--you helped me to not only regain my strength, you helped me regain my confidence and my zest for life. You are a truly a blessing. "

"Aerial Yoga brought my practice to a whole new level. Teaching traditional yoga for a few years, it renewed my inspiration & breathed fresh life into my practice. Starting the learning process all over again, it brought me back to a beginner mindset. Having a fresh perspective & renewed sense of compassion for students trying to learn. Aerial also strengthened me physically & mentally. I would definitely recommend the training. Wendi incorporates so much more into her trainings. It's not just yoga or aerial. She adds so much with her extensive knowledge & research. Wendi really goes above & beyond as a teacher. She has so much love & heart for what she does & for the people she teaches. She really wants you to learn as much as possible & doesn't hold back. Safety is very important to me for the health of my body & the people I teach. Wendi has a strong understanding of safety in anatomy & postures, as well as rigging & use of the hammock. I believe her knowledge & thoroughness is second to none. She works around the clock to make sure you're getting as much as possible from your time with her. On top of that she is one of the sweetest, most genuine people I know. She makes you feel welcome, confident, safe, & cared for. She has my utmost trust & respect. The curriculum is solid & extensive! I honestly feel I could do it all over again because there is so much! Which is overwhelming & awesome at the same time!"
"Wendi is an outstanding teacher. She taught us very kindly, naturally and clearly with most cares. She is perfect at observing and supporting students. She managed to take care of all individuals flawlessly with respect. She has an ability to recognize and see individual's character and preference. She could tell what poses I might like even before I tried. When I asked something about the pose she kindly taught me with details, where to fix, toes go which direction etc.. There was no moment of her being unprofessional. She reminded us to drink lots of water, gave us many great tips. She is funny, lovable and sweet and I enjoyed her class everyday. She is a wonderful teacher." - Taka
"Wendi is an amazing teacher. She is very knowledgeable about Aerial Yoga, the equipment, safety issues, and has the experience of teaching aerial yoga to others over a long period of time so she can share her experience with teaching a variety of students. She does a fantastic job of relaying aerial yoga practices to other mind-body movement theories. She also provides information on how aerial yoga impacts the students anatomically. The course includes a good balance of discussion, demonstration by Wendi, getting into the hammock to practice poses and transitions while getting individual feedback from Wendi, and going over class materials that Wendi provides. Class workbook is a great resource to classify poses and later use to build sequences for classes." - Michelle F.
